Akande is an alumnus of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Economics. He furthered his education with a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) from Nasarawa State University, Keffi.

Career Journey
Throughout his career, Akande has excelled in various leadership roles. He began his professional journey at Hamedeen Ventures, Tincan Island Lagos, where he served as Operations Manager. He later moved into the banking sector, working at First Atlantic Bank Plc and Finbank Plc (now FCMB), where he rose to the position of Head of Operations.
In 2016, Akande joined the Kogi State Internal Revenue Service as the Head of Compliance, Research, and Intelligence. He has since held several key positions, including:
- Head of Tax Drive, Monitoring, and Enforcement
- Pioneer Head of Local Government Collection
- Head of Road Tax
- Head of MDAs and Other Revenues
Currently, Akande serves as the Director of Administration and ICT at the Kogi State Internal Revenue Service, overseeing critical administrative functions and driving ICT initiatives to enhance the efficiency of the service.
