The Executive Chairman charged all the participants at the workshop to pay rapt attention to the lectures that will be delivered by the eminent JTB personalities at the workshop.

The Team Leader, Mr. Olawale Abel, explained vividly the aims and objectives of the workshop.

According to him, the workshop was aimed to create awareness and sensitisation on the new Joint Tax Board Tax Identification Number Change System.

Stressing further on the major advantage of the new TIN, he said it would boost revenue generation as the change will largely hover around automation processes and accurate data keeping of all Taxpayers.

He buttressed on how the system will curb tax evasion and aid a good working detail for the Federal Government Fiscal Policy to use in meeting the basic needs of her citizens.

Shortly after the lecture, there was a live demo presentation by Ms. Nwang Rita, who ran the participants through the Mobile TIN Application Software found on Google Playstore.

She educated the Staff on the ease of accessibility of the Application on mobile phones as well as the seamless navigation of its interface.

Rita further gave the alternative address for the accessibility on the web to be : www.tin.jtb.org.ng emphasising that the processes are basically user-friendly once the right details of the Taxpayer are provided.

However, the Presenter hinted on the likely possibility of some Taxpayers’ information not found on the website for the meantime as there is an ongoing collaboration with the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) to get all already existing data of Taxpayers to use in assessing the Taxpayers’ profiles.

In his closing remarks, the Executive Chairman appreciated the JTB Team and commended the participants for their active involvement in the workshop.

The workshop came to a closure with a group photograph of the JTB Team and the staff of the Service.
